A Cvent integration with EventIQ connects events, registrations, and attendance to advertising
campaign records and Salesforce deals, stages, and close dates.

It does not replace Cvent or turn
every Cvent field into a financial metric. It gives the three supported Cvent record types a
defined place in a cross-system view.

## What data flows from Cvent

The connector reads a narrow set of Cvent data. Session views, survey answers, audience
questions, badge scans, payments, refunds, and event costs are not part of this Cvent data flow.

| Data from Cvent | What EventIQ does with it |
|---|---|
| Events and event dates | Creates the event record that registrations, attendance, advertising campaign records, and a confirmed Salesforce campaign relationship can reference |
| Registrations: contact identifier and registration date | Keeps the registration as its own record and attempts to match the participant to a CRM contact by exact email |
| Attendance status | Stores `checked_in` separately from registration so a registration is not silently treated as attendance |

Matching has an explicit outcome on each participant record: matched, unmatched, or no email.
EventIQ does not deduplicate the same person across different source platforms, so a participant
present in more than one source can appear more than once in derived totals. Ask any vendor,
including us, which sources are supported and where identity coverage remains incomplete.

The connector does not calculate attendance rate, no-show rate, cost per registration, cost per
attendee, or event ROI. Neither that arithmetic nor the full event cost exists in the product
today, and the records are worth having anyway. Use the [event ROI guide](https://eventiq.io/md/event-roi) to define
those calculations outside the connector and keep the assumptions visible.

## What you can answer once Cvent is connected

Cvent data answers participation questions first. Turning those counts into a funnel view
belongs to the wider measurement stack: the
[event marketing analytics guide](https://eventiq.io/md/event-marketing-analytics) covers the metric definitions,
identity rules, and reporting controls that sit around these records. Connected ad platforms
add campaign name and status. Marketing spend is entered by your team or imported from a CSV.
Salesforce can add deals,
stages, and close dates through the confirmed mapping, but only where those sources are connected
and the records match.

- Which Cvent events and dates are present in the portfolio?
- Who registered for each event, and when was the registration recorded?
- Which registrants have a separate `checked_in` attendance record?
- Which participant records matched a Salesforce contact by exact email, and which did not match
  or arrived without an email?
- For an event with a human-confirmed Salesforce campaign relationship, which connected deals are
open by stage and which are closed with a close date?

Those answers do not establish multi-touch attribution. EventIQ currently uses one event-to-
Salesforce-campaign relationship that a person confirms. That link can place registrations,
attendance, open pipeline, and closed deals in the same review, but it should not be described as
credit shared across every marketing touch. The
[event marketing attribution guide](https://eventiq.io/md/event-marketing-attribution) compares the credit models and
states what data each one needs before it can be used.

Treat each record type separately. A registration is not attendance. An open Salesforce deal is
not closed revenue. Currency is retained on the source record, but EventIQ does not normalize
currencies, so cross-currency totals need an approved conversion outside the product before they
belong in one finance table.

The CRM match result also exists per participant record rather than as a dashboard coverage
percentage. You can identify a matched record, an unmatched record, or one with no email, but the
product does not currently calculate an overall match rate. If a review requires that percentage,
calculate it from the underlying records or leave it unknown; do not turn missing identity into a
zero-value outcome.

Connected ad platforms add campaign name and status only. Marketing spend is entered by your team
or imported from a CSV, and neither covers venue, production, travel, equipment, or labor cost. A
finance review still needs those missing cost lines before it can call the result a full event
P&L.

Use the open [event ROI calculator](https://eventiq.io/md/tools/event-roi-calculator) to structure the complete cost
and revenue inputs. It shows its formulas and does not ask for an email address.

## How the integration works

The working Cvent integration has 3 stages. This page promises no setup duration, history
window, authentication method, sync cadence, webhook behavior, retry policy, or write-back
capability.

1. API connection. EventIQ connects to the relevant Cvent account through the supported API
scope. Confirm account access and the exact records required for your event program before the
   first import.
2. Initial synchronization. The connector imports supported events and dates, registration
records, and attendance status. EventIQ keeps registration and attendance separate and records
the CRM match result for each participant.
3. Incremental updates. Later runs bring in new or changed supported records. The connector
screen shows a last-run time; dashboard figures do not currently carry a source-level
"as of" timestamp, so freshness should be checked before a finance review.

Cvent also has APIs, webhooks, and an app marketplace for its own integration ecosystem,
according to its public integrations documentation.
That describes Cvent's platform. It does not expand the EventIQ connector beyond the three data
types listed above.

## Cvent alone vs Cvent + EventIQ

Cvent and EventIQ do different jobs. Cvent runs registration and event operations. EventIQ
connects to Cvent and joins your Salesforce pipeline to the event: deals, stages, and close dates, next to registrations and attendance. Together they show which events sit behind your pipeline.

The [Salesforce integration guide](https://eventiq.io/md/integrations/salesforce) explains how deals are matched: by
exact email, through one event-to-campaign link your team confirms.

| Need | Cvent alone | Cvent + EventIQ |
|---|---|---|
| Registration | Cvent creates registration experiences and captures attendee details, as documented on its registration product page | EventIQ keeps the supported registration identifier and date as a separate participant record; it does not replace the registration flow |
| Event attendance | Cvent OnArrival supports event check-in, badge printing, attendance tracking, and session check-in, according to its onsite product page | EventIQ receives only event attendance status from this Cvent flow and stores it separately from registration; session attendance and badge scans are not included |
| CRM context | Cvent publishes Salesforce, HubSpot, and marketing automation integrations with behavior that depends on configuration | EventIQ matches participants to CRM contacts by exact email; Salesforce deals, stages, and close dates appear through a human-confirmed campaign relationship |
| Marketing context | Cvent documents connections to CRM and marketing systems through its integration ecosystem | Connected ad platforms add campaign name and status. Marketing spend is entered by your team or imported from a CSV; neither adds full event cost |
| Portfolio review | Cvent provides event and attendee reporting for its own products | EventIQ has event-level and portfolio dashboards. Confirm the fields shown before using either in a finance review |

Cvent's published feature set varies by product and configuration. Check your Cvent agreement for
the functions available to your team. EventIQ reads only the three Cvent data types listed above.
